Small Beginnings

The mighty baobab is known as the “Tree of Life” to many people in Kenya.

I felt inspired to create this image after speaking with Silas Orumba, an avid Kenyan conservationist who works with schoolchildren in his community. He is a wonderful example to me of how one person can empower others to make positive change.

The image reminds me that small beginnings can lead to remarkable things. One of South Africa’s ancient baobabs, the Sagole Baobab in Limpopo, has been carbon-dated to around 1,200 years old!
